Teyes CC3 Android Head Unit

Recommended Posts

Thanks mate. Had an is250 for years traded it in for a ct200h, which I hate. But 140 miles a day needed something decent on fuel. Now I'm working locally I'm wanting another is250. Im actually thinking buying a non ml system this time round as had to repair the speakers 2 times which was a faf, also considering maybe just get a full aftermarket setup. I did have a joying head unit in my camper, a few years ago, but it was very average, and had a few issues. I've read some reviews on mekede head units being decent and have android 12 and now with 12gb ram, but I don't know if this is a marketing strategy with false advertising The teyes is identical it seems but only android 10 and 6gb. Any one got experience of mekede?

Oh and regarding this, it’s normal. You probably just didn’t notice it before. This is the reason I am making my own climate control app for the Teyes. The reason the popup appears is because you have the climate control set to AUTO and in this mode the car is making small adjustments like fan speed and flow direction. These adjustments that the car is making automatically isn’t being done by you but essentially the app is listening for these changes as it cannot determine difference between the car making the change or you making it. So it thinks you changed a setting and hence shows the popup

Hi Ahmed, I'm also experiencing this issue but the heater is never set to auto and it still pops up when heater controls are completely turned off, any idea why?

I also have no audio when the unit wakes from sleep mode until I reboot the unit, just a few seconds of static and then a pause, before more static, I've spoken to teyes about it but nothing seems to fix either issue

Hi Ahmed, need help to get my TEYES to work the climate control. Wont be able to use the car in the winter, I'll probably end up refitting the original headunit back - please help 😢

I’ve replied to your DM. Please send me the pics requested so I can have a look at what’s gone wrong.

Hey Ahmed,

I have been doing my Teyes CC3 (B unit) install today on my 2009 is250.

Weird problem where I am not getting sound from the unit using Bluetooth or CarPlay etc. but if I plug in my phone to the cars aux port it works fine.

Any ideas? Currently liasing with their support too to hopefully sort it.

I think there is a setting in the original car agreement section and there is a section for sound output, try playing around with that and see how you get on. Is the OEM radio working also? I've had a glitch here and there where I have to mess around with the OEM radio and then sound output for CarPlay / Bluetooth works as expected

thanks for the reply!

The oem radio was working fine beforehand. Did you change settings with the oem radio whilst having the new unit in?

I will have a look in settings again but honestly just going to call out an auto electrician I think too since their support so far has been pretty vague and unhelpful.

2009 and Type B? Does your car originally have a usb port in the armrest? I’ve not tried to see if original aux port works as I’ve always replaced that but as the unit uses the aux port of the car to play the sound I would suspect that the connection somewhere not correct. Hard to tell without seeing exactly how you wired it. If you have photo showing exactly what u connected where then can possibly advise.

One time after driving into the city centre, my head unit wouldnt output any volume even though on the drive it was working. Im a facelift Type A vehicle I believe; only after flicking to the OEM radio with the FM button on the actual stereo  and then trying Siri in CarPlay did it bring the audio back. Can't quire reproduce this but it does quite rarely happen. I imagine their could be a wiring issue if its not working altogether, theres a wiring diagram Teyes provide. You'd be better off bringing to to either myself or Ahmed to inspect as we've had experience fitting these head units before. Auto electrician may be hit or miss

EDIT: Try referring to this wiring diagram Teyes provide.

Hi Ahmed (love your mods btw),

It's a 2009 with Aux port in the armrest, I have the black background in OEM A/C window.

I have attached some pictures I've taken of my wiring (excuse the mess still playing with it).

Thanks for the offer. I have used their wiring "diagram" and am fairly confident I have got it right but I can safely say I am not an expert, have attached pictures of my wiring so far.

Just confirm mate, the RCA red and white from your harness what are they plugging into, is it the front L and front R inputs or is it Aux L and Aux R in? You mentioned AUX was working only so you may need to put this into the Front Left and Front Right outputs instead,

They were on the inputs.

I took the car and the unit to a stereo man today and we couldn't work it out 😭

We tried almost every combination we could think of with no joy. If the red/white cables are on the input I only get left speaker, if they are using the output wires it worked a bit better but still no output sound from either the unit itself or over Bluetooth. My rear camera is also not working either with the unit - I continue to liaise with Teyes. They have said I can join a whatsapp group with the engineers so lets see how that goes.

Also, I accidentally got a small bit of damage on my pristine dash yesterday from it - absolutely devastated, I was so careful!

Thanks for the help so far.

Might be a headache but consider bringing your car down to Nottingham when you can; I dont mind trying to assist. With the reverse camera it's a 50/50 chance they even work at all but I have never been able to get the OEM ones to work on a variety of head units and models all throughout. The one full proof way of getting this working is splicing the television camera controller but it's alot more headache than it is worth imho. I have done what alot of people do and changed the camera altogether; to this end I have made a custom 3d printed bracket for Teyes AHD cameras that will fit in the exact spot the OEM camera does so itll look and feel OEM when plugged in.

Let me know if you do go down this route I'm happy to share the 3D print file.

Thanks for the offer. I am still working with Teyes on it, the unit is very nice otherwise so I am sure we will get there eventually. I am also too stubborn to give up!

I did actually manage to bag a 360 unit so can probably get the 360 cameras to replace rather than getting their HD one. Will consider once we get the sound working properly and will update here if any news!
