Very sad to hear this. He also encouraged me many moons ago to go ahead and get my Lexus. Thanks for sharing the pic of him...

My apologies for late acknowledgment, to echo the comments made, since joining the forum whenever i had questions or needed advice John would respond with helpful solutions which like many  on this forum pointed me in the right direction. I will always be grateful for John's insights.

RIP.

I've been missing for a few days due to moving house and I had no idea that John had passed.

I never met him but he certainly was a very knowledgeable and affable person in here and he'll be very sorely missed by myself and lots of others.

Sincere condolences to all his family and loved ones.

Having lost a close family member in the same week I know how distressed John's family are and my sincere condolences go out to them.

He was around the forum for a good part of its existence and his contribution was much appreciated by everyone including myself who admired his wit and straight talking.

Rip John.

Rest In Peace John. Your wealth of knowledge and experience and the kindness and understanding you showed to others in your contributions via this owners club will never be forgotten. I never had the privilege to meet you but as others have said similar here, I felt like I knew you through your wisdom. My thoughts are with your family. May The Lord give them strength. You were a true legend. All of us here at the LOC will miss you Sir x

In a 2nd email from Sarah, one of royoftherovers daughters, she said…

It was too upsetting to look at the forum sooner, but I've just clicked on the link you said and spent the past half hour reading all the lovely comments - there are three pages I can't believe it! I've just seen there is someone who said he was in Cheshire so he might be interested.

Please could you thank everyone for us - It's so lovely to know that his help was appreciated.

My sister admitted a few days ago she had spilled a can of coke on the Owner’s Manual of Dad's new Lexus but never admitted it to him!!  She went into the garage to try and order a new copy to hide it from him but was told they cost £60.  The salesperson said, "why don't you just come clean to your dad" and couldn't understand the look of horror on Elizabeth's face!

From all the comments it feels like the Lexus Forum will know exactly what dad would have thought/said if she'd owned up!

Sarah

On this weekend above all others it's timely you bring up the act of forgiveness. I am equally sure John knew that the three most valuable things in life are love, compassion and forgiveness. A Lexus manual wouldn't make the top 100 on the list 🍻

It's a bit of a journey for me, so I won't be there in person, though will be in spirit.

John still 'reminds' me to check the manual first, as I was doing yesterday...

( Having lost my own mother recently, I know the pain and huge jumble of emotions, that last longer than I thought and probably for ever.)

My sincere prayers for John, his life celebration tomorrow, and his friends, family and forum colleagues.
