The beeps from my reversing sensors are way too loud.  Does anyone know how I can turn the volume down?

I don’t think generally they are adjustable but you could just tape some foam or something round the speaker.

I'm not sure about the SC but the volume can be adjusted in the RC models.

What does your manual say?

I doubt that there is a volume control. I removed my parking sensors some time ago but I wrote the words below in another thread.

Research reveals the on/off switch was optional. I doubt many were fitted as it's there to be turned off for the purpose of towing a caravan or trailer.

The model is a Lexus Parking Aid LPA400. The Lexus owners manual is ref AOM 000 011-0 PP/NPZ464-00420-41 printed Italy 2005

Does anyone have a diagram for the location of the rear parking sensor speaker.  I’m going with the foam and tape solution but despite its loud volume, I am having difficulty identifying its exact whereabouts other than hearing it coming from the back somewhere.

Hi Perry, because the sensors were always fitted after the car left tho factory so therefore fitted by either a dealer or someone else there is no set place where the speaker is to be located.  I put mine just at the front of the lower rear seat so I knew I would be able to hear it.  So I would start there as if it is really loud it probably isn’t in the boot area and with the control unit in the boot the cable to the speaker in my case wouldn’t reach to the dash board area. The lower rear seat easily removed just by pulling up either side.

Ah, thanks Glyn.  I’ve just come back in from the garage after another SC430-related project so I will have a break and then go out and pull the seat.

Hi Perry

My front and rear parking sensors have a circular speaker about 3cm in diameter which has multiple holes is its face.

I think black insulation tape is a winner as you could adjust the tape over the correct amount of holes until the sound level is perfect for you.

Well, the sensor was in the boot, stuck to the offside boot hinge.  It had just the one speaker hole in its casing, over which I taped a small piece of foam. Problem solved.  Thanks to everyone for your input.
