Foot operated handbrake.

This is just a post that if the handbrake warning light is on when the handbrake is Off then its an electrical fault either on the switch or its wiring.

To replace the switch means removing the whole handbrake mechanism. I tried on my is250 but could I move the mechanism after removing the nuts? No.

You need to almost bend over backwards to see the switch.

My light comes on when it feels like it. I've wiggled the wire and operated the switch by hand (no easy task) and it's basically tolerate the light being on or spend a lot of hard earned getting a garage to do it.

I spoke with that almost Lexus independent from Preston and he was dead helpful. He remembered doing one a few years back and it was,in his words, a Pig of a job.

So there you have it. If the handbrake light stays on when the handbrake is off you're stuffed.
