ECU Upgrade

Just to let you know tht we have finally finished development on the ECU upgrade. No messing with tamper proof screws or desoldering etc.

The version for the supercharged models with 3D mapping will follow shortly.

Mark, how much or what kind of performance improvement will the chip provide? It is best combined with other improvements or can it be a stand alone mod?:?:

It gives 6hp / 12 ft/lbs torque on a standard car. The improvements are from 3000 rpm up to the red line. We do not have any acceleration data yet, but from my driving impressions I can certainly notice the improvement.

This modification will work better as other upgrades such as exhaust and manifold are done.

I have tried both Buddy Club Racing Spec ECU & Unichips on my supercharge IS200. The Buddy Club ecu was tuned by Jap tuner and Unichip by an australian tuner and both do not work on my supercharge IS200. I asked TTE for the A/F map and they are unable to provide me and in the end, I decided to go for the TTE upgraded sub ecu instead. You guys can opt for the Autronics SM2 but it is a very complicated job according to Ray Hall, Australia.

The standard supercharged model may not require any further mapping, but this will be essential when any other modifications are carried out. We should have the data later this month

Hi Mark,

The problems I encountered with Buddy Club & Unichip are I can't get constant power/torque. It is even more sluggish on the Dyno as compared to stock TTE kit. According to the australian tuner who tried the unichip on my supercharged IS200 was saying my car is similar to the BMW 6 cylinder whose computer is very smart and we require a better computer like Motec or Autronic to control the stock ecu.

Mark, wot you got for a Mk1 GS300 chip wise and would it be a straight forward replacement?

peter-flint, we do a similar mod for the GS300, which shrek had done last month. There is a thread on the GS300 page somewhere. Mail me off list if you are interested.
