Hi all,

I have recently bought an IS250 (2006) and hear very windy sound when driving on motorway and getting better when the moonroof cover is closed.

I am suspecting the moon roof is not tilt to the correct position when close (dial button at position 9), also it cannot tilt up (button at position 10).

I am not sure how to fix it ... should I take to local mechanics / Lexus specialist mechanics for help ? new parts needed or I need to replace the system ? or just some cleaning with WD40 would work ?

Please kindly share advise on what wrong and can I fix it ?

Try resetting it by taking it to its extremes both on tilt and slide.

Do you gave the handbook to the car? If so look in it for moon roof operations.

Thanks, tried the reset with that 30 second holding the button, seems not work,

and I can see the moonroof of my car do not tilt-up like @Beamish 2nd video when switched to 9th position ... if I go for lubricant approach, any other suggestion on how to do it ?

Seems well stuck and you need to get it open to fix/oil. I would be tempted to put the motor into tilt up position and gently encourage it to move from below.

I agree with this too. Then give the runner's and other moving parts  a good spray with WD-40 from inside when you get  it to tilt even a wee bit
