Register Multimedia Device

I cannot get my car's Multimedia Device to register.  I've tried it using the in-car method, and I've tried it on My Lexus using the Device ID.  I always get "The Device ID you have entered is incorrect. Please provide a valid Device ID."

I know it's not a good system and I'm using Android Auto as a rule, but I want to check for any software updates.

I assume you have your Lexus Link account already set up? If that is the case you can perform your phone link with the car if you first pair the car multimedia system to your home Wi-Fi thereafter you can pair you phone with the car via wired connection . Ensure to use genuine cable
