I have an NX450h+ Takumi on order and hopefully being delivered in June/July. The tow bar option was removed from the options list before I ordered in June 2022 (possibly due to wiring loom availability) but I know from a previous thread that some members on here had been able to order it early on and possibly some had actually received a Derby fitted tow bar. My dealer hasn't got a clue and I recently asked Lexus UK CS who replied ''Upon checking with our internal Product Specialists, we can confirm that unfortunately this model does not come with the detachable tow bar from factory as an optional extra due to the maximum mass of the vehicle'. This doesn't seem to stack up with other members experiences, but wondered if anyone else has enquired or has any insight? I only use the tow bar for a light duty cycle carrier so I'm not trying to tow a caravan or heavy trailer etc. Many thanks in advance for any replies or insight.

We have a 450h+ FSport but no Takumi pack, and were able to spec a towbar.  Ordered Feb 22 and delivered December.  Towbar was fitted at Derby.  Perhaps the Takumi takes you over the notional weight limit.

Check the vehicle's data plate for the GTW value. If there isn't a value given then it is illegal to tow  with the car. It would also preclude fitting a tow bar for cycle carriers. One's insurer would take a very dim view if one was fitted

My MY2023 NX 450h+ has a removable tow bar fitted by the dealer, with 60 kg nose weight. The max towing weight is 1,500 kg, so the nose weight will be the limiting factor when choosing a caravan.

ordered my NX450H+ with a towbar but not sure where it was fitted.

Just wondered if anyone has had the issue I'm having  - my previous Volvo knew when a trailer was fitted and automatically disabled the rear collision warnings but the NX keeps slamming the brakes on while I'm reversing and I have to manually switch off some of the safety systems every time I restart the car.

After three volvo,s with tow bars I was amazed that a car with all the clever electronics does not automatically disable items when towing.

In fact I thought it must be an incorrectly fitted tow bar ,but my dealer assured me the Lexus one is just power to the socket and as you have found all systems must be turned off in the car.

When using my trailer it just makes a lot of noise and an occasional slam of the brakes, but with a bike rack it's like you have hit a wall in reverse.

Nothing in the manual or tow bar instructions mentions this and I feel it lets a great car down.
