Hi, we don't have wireless charging on our phones and wish to use the space for storage, does anyone know how to turn wireless charging off? I have looked within the menu on screen and the booklet, thanks.

On my 2020 model there is a button on the charging pad, illuminated if it’s on

I cannot find this button on the 23MY version? Would also like to turn this off. The manual supplied with the car is for the 22MY!

Leaving it on will not cause any problems surely? Unless the unit detects a wirelessly rechargeable device it won't operate?

Looking through the owner's handbook, there doesn't appear to be any button to switch it off, only operation condition indicators on the tray side and the multimedia screen.

What it does say in the handbook (page 345) is -

"Do not use the charging tray as a small
storage space"

It would be good to switch it off, running an EMF meter close to it indicates that it may be on or at least doing something. Better not to have EMF exposure for something that would never be used

Again, from the handbook -

" Charging power will not be output during standby."

So, there will be no EMF until the tray detects a QI compatible device?

Coming from very close if not the charger itself. The only way to validate would be to turn it off and test EMF?

The Qi device will energise at very low duty cycles to test if there is a receiver coupled with the transmitter.  If there is no off button I would guess it continuously searches for a receiver, but at very low average power levels.
