Not sure the car is thinking. Artificial intelligence is a bit too high to expect from the contacts in the windshield wiper stalk in the car.

Do not think it is thinking, it just some time for the sensors to react. A slight delay.

It never rains in southern California (Albert Hammon), and more or less the same here, so I am not really used to touching the stalk for other reasons than washing the windows with the fluid in the container and whenever touching, the washing starts immediately. Actually, all the contacts, buttons and stalks are functioning like in all other cars I have had.

Thanks for the feedback, it's interesting to hear. Perhaps it is just normal then. It just seems like an unnecessary feature if the car is going to determine the speed of the wipers regardless of which setting you choose. Like Nick, every other car I've had has a setting of fast > slow > slower.

I think the main reason it's noticeable (and annoying) on the CT is that the 'slow' setting is still too fast (only a couple of seconds between wipes). I find myself having to turn it off and manually do the wipers.

thanks chaps. Sounds like we are coming to the conclusion that it's working how it was meant to, it's just that it is meant to work in a weird Lexus way?!

Still be good to hear others' experiences with this feature, just to be sure to be sure

exactly the same for me Stuart. Minor annoyance but nonetheless why don't it do what it orta etc
