If you notice water sits there you most likely have a blocked drain hole its located on the passenger side get a screwdriver or a pick and dig out the grit/mud/dirt & watch the water drain out via a tube under the passenger arch.

I can only imagine long term it will cause issues potentially excess water getting past a seal under the windscreen into the cabin causing expensive issues.

Appreciate this may already be documented on the site but if not this may prevent owners facing future issues. (I may well be overthinking it)

I realised upon receiving the car and quickly unblocked with a bit of wire. My guess is that if that gap has been designed to drain water, it would take the water to a place that isn't harmful to the car?

At least I hope so! I'm not sure there is a lot more I can do about it

Yes your right its if the water sits there in heavy downpours may result in potential issues.

Thanks! Where is this drain tube under the passenger arch, do you know?

I dont think its connected to a tube, its a drain hole that must be routing water down a path it comes out under the arch if you look carefully. Tested it with a hose a while back.
