Every weekend there is a place where a load of Yankee cars meet up and now and again i pop over for a coffee and a good look round.

Today as it was nice and sunny quite a few turn up and I am dribbling over paintwork!

Some really nice motors from pink cadillacs to corvettes

What took my fancy was a lovely 80 corvette.. engine roared out on starting and i needed to retreat to the glove compartment of my car for a box of kleenex

I hope one day I can save up some money for one of these as a weekend car.. or anything classic american... I love em

Ford Mustangs are also very high in my book.. I know Steve (Smartly) owns one... i think he should bring it to one of our meets B)

when i was over in North Carolina, one of the guys from work had a real classic... '72 (I think) Pontiac GTO.. fully restored.. man that was nice..

Took me for a spin in it (almost literally!), that thing span its rear wheels in 2nd! (4-speed stick shift)

while i was in Canada,for a year had a few classics.......... :) , so classi they should have been scrapped.

to be honest they looked like crap, but when they cost 300$ and fuel was $20 a tank........insurance cost nothing, and there was no MOT....u dont complain

i often got 8 or 9 peeps in that car for a 55mph cruise to Calgary.............

theyt were known as BATUS dustbins, they were passed from 1 outgoing team to another incoming team........

some had been on base for 30 years :)
