Lexus is250 March 2009.

Today I noticed AFS OFF Amber light flashing and on stopping the car, doors did not unlock.

Anyway I stopped the car and did my chores. Went back home. Check AFS again on. Noticed wind screen washers not working. Filled up the washer fluid only to find there was plenty in there. It started to work though.

Later now I wanted to go to store and the car will not unlock with keyfob. Thought might be batteries and replaced. Still won't work. Got another set of keys. Still wont work. Manually opened the door using the mechanical key. Alarm set off.

I am able to start the car but alarm remains on and beeping. AFS OFF light remains blinking amber.

Main beams are on and I cannot turn them off. Wipers don't work. Can't open any door as it tries to lock itself. Wth just happened?

I disconneted the main Battery and left for ten minutes. Even with Battery disconnected the alarm is making noise. How is that possible? Is there a second Battery

The main Battery voltage is set to 12.33 volts. I can start the car but alarm is on and security red light is blinking and AFS OFF is blinking.

I don't have any other car and this was my mode of transport. Please help.

Thanks  Nemesis. Bosch Battery bought in March 2018.

Bosch S4026 S4 068 Car Battery 4 Years Warranty 70Ah 630cca 12V

Wow... I bought it for 68 pounds and now it is for 128.

I don't know if it is the Battery because it does start the car and lights turn on. Start motor sound is the usual. And when I checked the voltage it was 12.33 before starting. I have put it on charge and will get a replacement regardless.

Tempted to order tech stream from eBay but now sure which is the right one. And it might take a while to come due to industrial actions.

Please keep the inputs coming.

I think I'd get it to my nearest Lexus dealer... for a check, with a view to getting a new Battery - maybe?

I don't have any Lexus Centre locally. Only have Toyota. Might have to get it on a recovery truck.

Does anyone know where the key recognition module and the security alarm is located in the car?

Wondering if some ice or water caused an issue. The alarm noise seem to come from boot.

Yes, John.

I bought a little red IQ. 2014. It's great!. Like a Tardis inside! Running on All-Seasons, and a lovely new Battery.

Thanks for the update Piers. I remember telling you that it was a good idea.

The Battery suggestion did not work.

At this point I am confident that it has something to the fact that security module is not behaving as should. I looked that the yellow security module in the boot but everything visually looks fine.
