Winter Fuel Consumption

I have always been pretty fortunate with my fuel consumption I am very light footed and normally average at about 57mpg to 62mpg, however over the last few weeks its dropped a lot , down to 48mpg. is this due to the new fuels we all use or is it just a weather impact?

I was getting around 62mpg, last week or two now down to 55/56mpg. Cold weather certainly makes a difference. Now using heated seats and the heater, the engine is running for longer periods. Still pretty good.

So driving in winter is demanding a little more fuel.

Be happy your car is not a fully electric.

In Denmark (more or less climate like where you are) UX electric can be easily bought for around 30K €, here in Spain (much milder climate) the cheapest I have found is 37K €. One thing is making it very much more different than just the 7K€ is that all extra equipment (and in Lexus there is lots of that) have an additional tax in Denmark of 180%.

It is not fun living in a cold climate when price for electricity, heating and many other things are now extra expensive because a stupid dictator is playing emperor, but driving electric cars where Battery is having a hard time delivering as promised when temperatures are down and life of the Battery is also suffering with very low temperatures, we are lucky that the NiCad is not as vulnerable (and expensive) as the LiIon in EV's.

Several Ioniq's were registered as taxis the last 2 years, but now it seems more are going back to Prius. Taxis live a hard life and do not last long. In the climate we have here the EV batteries are not suffering like in very cold countries, so maybe there are other things influencing that.
