Hi all

My Is300h will be ten years old come September. Has been mostly rock solid, bar a headlight change (stuck in high beam) and 12v Battery change (consumable anyway). Usual servicing applies.

I've had it serviced at an independent, but I don't think things have been changed which Lexus might have at least inspected.

CVT Fluid; Inverter Coolant; Differential Oil

I want to keep the car for the long-term so having these drained and refilled would presumably be wise.

But when do they need doing?

Have I missed anything else that ought to be done routinely, or if not routinely, then proactively (maybe water pump)?

Any other recommendations to keep it well maintained?

I am thinking of taking it to an independent Lexus specialist, or if not, maybe getting Lexus to do it directly. Didn't Lexus equalise their servicing pricing recently? It'd be nice to get all this done under that in a single service (though probably unlikely).

Assuming you have kept to the service shedule each year then plugs should already have been changed (unless you didn't do them due to very low mileage) and so the only extra scheduled item at the Lexus 10 years / 100k miles service is engine coolant. The inverter coolant is only scheduled at 150k miles.

CVT fluid is (according to Lexus) lifetime fluid so only a check of level (if you decide to change it that's you choice of course).

Differential oil should be every 2 years / 20k miles (though see the thread on here about that - if it hasn't been done for some time worth doing though). 

Brake fluid should be every two years. 

Nothing other then engine coolant though on the Lexus schedule beyond normal 2 year / 20k mile normal servicing.

Of course plenty of preventative / pre-emptive things that could be done and I'm sure others will make suggestions - personally I'm just sticking to the Lexus service schedule (now 8 years old and 125 miles).

Lexus have the simplified major / minor service costs now. I would assume that they should apply the major service cost to your 10 year / 100k mile service though as you've not had it serviced by Lexus for some time not sure how they view that.

I have taken a few cars to  100k+ in my years of driving

Never once have I had any major issues mainly owned Jap cars so generally pretty reliable consider the following if you want to reach the 200-300k milestone. This list is overkill but you wont be seeing a breakdown if your ontop of these items.

Service (Major)

- Oil & Filter

- Air filter

- Pollen Filter

- AC Clean & recharge if necessary

- Brake Fluid

- Wipers & washer fluid

- CVT Fluid & Differential oil

- Coolant radiator & invertor

- Spark plugs at 60k intervals

- Clean Hybrid fan & filter

- Drive belt

- 12v Battery

- Brake disc & pads

- Water pump inspect & replace if necessary

- Tyres & wheel alignment

- Shock absorbers & Drop links

- Ball joints & control arms inspect

- Exhaust corrosion inspect usually mid section/back box

- Oxygen sensor

- Clean MAF Sensor

- Inspect rocker cover gaskets if you see any oil leaks replace

- Underbody corrosion including brake/fuel lines 

dashcam (accessory) works in your favour if your ever in a bump.

The list goes on use your MOT advisories for any work due keep ontop of your preventative maintenance & your guaranteed plenty of miles ahead. :driving:
