Annoying noise.

Hi Everyone.

I have a 64plate 300h. It is a great car and good drive.

When I have my foot on the throtle it makes a noise like radio interferance that increases with every gear change. It is not loud but is annoying.

It does not happen when in electric mode.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

Do you have ASC (Active Sound Control) enabled? This "generates engine sound, conveying the kinetic situations of the vehicle’s acceleration and deceleration to the driver through the speakers inside the instrument panel."

If you have it it will be controlled by a thumbwheel on the lower dash panel

Have you got the engine sound generator switched on - small wheel switch down by the rhs of the steering column. As the 300h had no gears this generates a fake engine and simulated gear noise.
