Had a nice drive in the car at the weekend to Samphire Hoe near Dover, which has the added benefit of being reached by a narrow (single-lane) 300 metre long tunnel. The sound certainly put a smile on the face.

Unfortunately, it was my final drive in the car, as it has now been sold. Lots of reasons why the decision was made; i'll probably add a little summary of my short ownership experience to my original post from when I was looking for a car.

I must admit I was surprised b your latest post and especially so given how much deliberation you went through in your quest to buy an LC.

I wonder, would you mind sharing with us the reason(s) why you sold the car and of course I'm sure many others would appreciate your summary of ownership. It would also be interesting to hear of the proposed or actual replacement, assuming that is already a consideration or even a done deal.

V8 in Norway, is that even legal? 😄 Great spec...

It’s political incorrect …! But there are V8s around in addition to the H. LC500(V8 or h) are very rare here. Never seen one in/on the open road ever.

Congratulations on your purchase and that is quite the colour.

Thanks! Truth is, for that model year and to fit my budget, it was basically my only option! Thankfully, it’s really growing  on me and makes a change from black, grey, silver etc.

Thanks! Was really not sure, but everyone I’ve shown photos to seem to really like it. My mate – who actually test drove the launch car in 2017 – was absolutely gushing over it, which helped relieve a few worries. Sometimes having no choice isn’t such a bad thing!

Big fan of the alloys too. Congratulations on the purchase. Might want to consider some ppf as matching that colour would not be easy? It isn’t easy on the sonic red either.

My 2024 S+ carbon with Dynamic. I am loving ownership of this car, not so much the attention (albeit lovely comments) that it attracts.

With only a few hundred miles clocked up, I am not noticing any difference in performance in any of the drive modes, apart from the visual graphics.

That's not a complaint - but perhaps an longer term owner can explain the difference in the mapping/dynamics depending on mode selected.

In ECO mode, you put the foot down and the car corners and accelerates - and upshifts, with complete confidence.

Looks great.

You'll find in the sports modes that it will consistently use lower gearing and with a sharper throttle response.  (In ECO it felt to me as if the throttle mapping reduced the input of 80% of the throttle travel - if you boot it in ECO then I think it wakes up the throttle map, but not the gearing)

I never really felt any dynamic changes in handling.  (Although mine as a 2022, so there may be further changes/revisions since)

On gears I find in sport or sports plus it never goes above 8th gear, which is great fun, higher revs and sharp throttle response but affects mpg on the motorway.

I change the modes a lot depending on my mood - eco is great for lazy v8 lugging noise but if you want to get the big step up in noise that comes at 4000rpm you have to use manual or one of the sport modes.

The step up at 4000rpm still excites me after three years owning it.

There is a definite harder ride and more responsive nature from the chassis in sports plus.

Epic epic car.

many thanks to all three of you for your helpful comments.

I love this car and it's a keeper for me - makes me smile every time I start it in my garage.

Great information from BrettMRC and Arth_Vader re the ECO mode and chassis comments in Sport+

Biggest problem about living in central London is the ability to exercise the red line but I'll take a longer trip out and try the different modes.

I wasn't aware that in S+ the gearing topped out in 8 gear, so thank you for that info. If anyone has more suggests - I'm grateful.

Cheers for now

Might be worth getting an exhaust valve controller from Etsy as well.

The post 2019 cars are fitted with an OPF though, so will never quite have the same volume/drama as the initial run of cars.
