Good afternoon , just had a phone call from Lexus dealer offering to buy my 2018 Gsf, 38k miles for £42k. Can I please have your thoughts 👍👍👍

Obviously depends if you want to sell it 😉

I think that's not a bad price - you would probably struggle to get more privately, but no doubt they will try and sell it for £50k.

Worth getting a valuation with WBAC just to see what they would offer and possibly try Motorway or Carwow as well.

Sounds like a reasonable price, though as always it depends if your in the market to sell anyway.  If your wanting to keep it then it’s irrelevant.  
 

I don’t tend to think too much about value unless it’s going to impact me somehow…when I’m buying or selling.

If you have had any thoughts of selling it, then perhaps grab it. There are more than ever now coming up for sale (an unprecedented 5 or 6  at once for quite a few weeks) which is not surprising, given the price of fuel and the state of the economy. These cars are hanging around much longer, so there's every chance prices could drop heavily. 

They could of course go up in value because of V8, rarity etc, but I wouldn't stake my life on it!

I have a late 2017 with 34k miles and although I intend keeping it for a long time I'd find an offer anywhere near hard to ignore.

On the other hand if you love the car, don't need the money and would otherwise keep it for a long time, then hanging onto it is probably best option.

Did they just ring out of the blue or had you offered it to them as a trade in or a buy back valuation ?.

If they rang you out of the blue, they've obviously got a customer after one. I'd say that's good/ fair money. If you need the money/ want to swap/ upgrade/ downgrade etc then considering a private sale would likely take a while, I would go for it. If you are going to get something else through the dealer, I would chance your arm and ask for more - they'll be getting your repeat business and potentially making a quick sale to this other customer...

Let me know the dealers name they can make me an offer on mine,  maybe start a bidding war 😄....

With the AT ones and now this valuation, mine just keeps going up and up. Soon I'll trade it in for an LFA... 🤣
