This morning I had just parked my UX in a supermarket car park and I noticed a CT200 driver winding his window down to talk to me. He said something like" Great cars aren't they ? " Then asked me if I wanted to buy a "genuine" Lexus watch . I told him I don't wear a watch day to day then so then  he wanted me to buy it as present for someone. I told him I really  wasn't interested and he drove off suddenly.

I can't imagine he sells many.

Quite common and not just watches. It used to be leather jackets in motorway service areas. “Company overbought, almost free etc.”

As always buyer beware.

I saw that LPD are down to their last few official branded power banks, there are some odd bits of Lexus branded merchandise about 🤣

But as he said... Never buy stuff from an unsolicited random, it's always too good to be true. I knew some guys get taken in by the speaker box scam 20+ years ago.

When I was in China I have almost any imaginable object branded with Lexus logo, glasses, pens, shoes, phone chargers... you name. Somebody offering it in parking lot is more likely to have cheap trash from China, not even real Lexus branded watch. I see it this way - Lexus isn't watch maker, so even legitimate Lexus watches going to be just marketing gimmicks, they are like business cards for dealers nothing more.

If you want watch then look for companies that makes watches, if you want power bank again there are companies whose primary business is to make power banks. Lexus primary business is to make cars, so that what they do... all other products which they offer are inevitably just marketing gimmicks - if you get it gifted to you for free when buying car or service plan then great, but paying any money is always going to be bad deal.

I only got a packet of biscuits with mine, they are however the “improved” I.e. facelift version.

Well Steve, a watch may tell you when it's elevenses but without biscuits could you legitimately call it elevenses 😎

Not sure, but I don't think that Lexus herself offers any 'high' quality watches [quartz nor mechanical] for sale or as an extra with one of their special edition cars..

Remember that in the 'old' days SAAB included an IWC mechanical watch in the deal when you bought a special edition of one of their convertible models. And that a  few years back such a pre-owned IWC watch was more expensive than the pre-owned actual car .
