Hi, recently bought a Lexus IS220D, recently gpt it fully serviced but next day noticed a leak on the front passenger side, panicked as thougjt it was oil, checked the source of the leak and its a light blue colour, is it washer fluid or coolant leak? Pic attached.

Welcome Nas,

The coolant should be pink, but that is assuming the correct Toyota fluid was used.  If so, then washer fluid would be my guess, especially as the washer liquid container lives in that area.

You can get blue engine coolant but that shouldn't have been used on your vehicle so it is likely to be screenwash. If you cannot see where it is coming from it would be worth confirming with whoever serviced it what colour fluids they used.

Thanks Shapor, no fluid changes done on service, coolant is orange colour, I thought the same, its on the front passenger side just before the bumper area, not sure how that could have happened at service as its a separate area to the oil and fuel filter areas on the vehicle...

Hey Colin, yes checked the coolant colour, its orange and no fluid changes were done at service apart from oil and all the filters (cabin, fuel, air and oil) so not sure how it happened as the screenwash reservoir area is separate from these areas

As part of a service they would normally top up the washer fluid, maybe they were just clumsy and overfilled it so may not be actually leaking.

No top ups on washer fluid, thata the confusing bit, just oil change and filters (air, oil, fuel and cabin) done 🤷‍♂️

Many years ago, I had been working in the engine bay of my Cavalier. In the evening, whilst walking towards it, I noticed a drip on the bottom of the front bumper. Knowing anti freeze is sweet, I touched and  tasted it. It wasn't sweet, so I smelt it.....

A tom cat had sprayed there😝

As a former Cavalier owner it would be unusual if there was not a puddle of something under the car...
