Screen auto dimming - annoying!

As the title suggests i cannot find a way to stop me screen automatically dimming every time the headlights turn on. When driving just going under a bridge causes the screen to dim and then go back to normal brightness a few seconds later. I turned off automatic mode on the main menu (screenshot attached) - am i missing another setting elsewhere?

I think that is the only setting that would be related to this, but I think this stops it switching between a white or black background rather than the screen actually dimming.

All I can suggest is to alter the brightness level when it is in dim mode - maybe it will remember the two different brightness levels.

 

The other approach would be the change the auto sensitivity of the headlights so they don't come on so easily if you just pass under a short bridge.
