Hiya lads,

Im new and this is my 1st post, ive read alot of the forums on the lexus we have and its a pure love or hate thing... Theres no middle ground. I absolutely love my car and after 4 years its time for a rehaul... Ive managed to get coilovers but i need a camber kit... Other than ordering it bit by bit would one of the kits for an isf or is250 work? I know the shocks and springs are the same but i cant seem to find much more. Also... Are all 250 an 220d parts interchangeable, and what about the is200d??

Thanking you all in advance.

A kit for the 250 should work. Springs/shocks have different ratings for the 220d only because of the vehicle weight difference, physically all the parts are the same.

Thanks for the reply.... Sadly that i know. However, what about the camber kit? Would that fit? Ie upper an lower control arms ect....

Now then lads,  Just an update... got coilovers that were actually made for the 220d, along with a full camber kit as im dropping the dump truck of a car down 40mm, and complete strut brace kit. Next is the sway bars and that should take care of ant body roll. I want a LSD but ive been reading and there are alot of mixed feelings about getting one... Any thoughts? Then im aiming to upgrade the turbo starting with a new headgasket, then boost control, and a sprint boster which shoukd kill any dead spots in acceleration. Then intercooler + pipes, straight exhaust from turbo going back, and finally a remap. Im going to juice whatever hp i can get out of that engine.

No reason not to get LSD. Especially if you're chasing power, it'll help you put it down better as both wheels will be driven. I'm not clued up on the diesel, so no clue if any 220d came with a diff, or if the IS250 / GT86 diff is compatible.. Don't see why not, but you will need a different final drive, it will help with acceleration. Manual IS250 is 3.9 ratio, GT86 is 4.1. Auto IS250 is 3.7 IIRC. No clue about 220d but from what I heard people dont say very good things about the gearing on that car. - the higher the ratio, the faster the acceleration but you'll be doing a bit more revs at same speed.

Of course theres a diff, and for physical stuff the Is220d and the IS250 are the same, but engines are night an day, so if the GT86 did fit, how do i get a new FD?

By saying "no clue if any 220d came with a diff" I meant LSD... obviously there's diff, but most likely Open. If you get a whole pumpkin from either 86 or is250, it will already be there and you don't have to do anything, it's just the ring and pinion. Here's a guide to actually open the diff case and swap stuff over: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54054&highlight=final+drive

No worries. I had an 86 and 08 is250 manual. Now I got 300zx and 06 is250 manual.

Wow, you went all out with the arms. Are you planning on setting up some crazy camber?

Super low

No neeed for arms if you’re going just low, but it’s nice to have full adjustment if you was to go camber mad.

This is my mates, undriveable, static 250.

So im at - 2.2 front and - 1.6 rear for a cambered look and best for hard-core street driving as i do take my car to track every now an again.

@Blessed1235 who do you insure with, they must be very accommodating with all these modifications?

I only ask as on a different forum a member has had his insurance voided when he disclosed he had applied paint protection film ...

Some insurance companies have 0 modifications policy… so even painted calipers are a void.

with extensive mods you need to find a modified specialist. I’m insured with Brentacre, all non-engine mods are declared free of charge. Covered like for like. And no, just because it’s a modified specialist doesn’t mean the premium is more expensive.

There's a polish company called "racing diffs" and that make an amazing LSD converter kit for open diffs, they have solid reviews and have been around for a few years. Its £200 so think i may get that... And when i do my remap have my gearbox tuned.

Acorn, they are awesome. They only care about engine mods and paint. And that's because engine mods make car more powerful, and paint because it can increase the value of your car. They dont care about anything else.
