Fails to start

Recently my IS300H 2019 has had an intermittent problem starting, I depress the brake and press start - nothing happens! I get a message saying ignition is on. This can go on for several attempts until it starts. Any ideas? Thanks

If one presses the Start without depressing the brake pedal one goes into Acc or IGN or Off modes..

"Modes can be changed by pressing 
the power switch with brake pedal 
released. (The mode changes each 
time the switch is pressed.)"

Which would support a failing  brake pedal switch. The car doesn't know you are depressing the pedal
