I have just collected a 450h Takumi, very impressed indeed!  However, the navigation system is a lot simpler than the previous car, but I cannot find a way of inputting the Home address: the manual suggests doing it on the map, but it never seems to register.  Any help please?

Indeed the only way noted in the handbook is to use the map

1 Touch [🔎 ] on the map screen.
2 Touch [ 🏠].
3 Move the map to the location you wish to register and touch [OK].

Never register your home address on the on-board Sat Nav. That's advice given by the police.
It means that if your car is stolen from work / public car park the thieves know where you live and that you are not at home. And, has LED to a double crime TWOC and burglary.

I've set mine to my local police station, so should the car ever get stolen and "they" try the rob the house too trick, "they" are in for a surprise!

Ditto - should give 'em a shock!!

Realistically one only needs one's home town, surely everyone can then find their way home?

I set mine for the middle of a nearby roundabout that serves 2 housing estates. For this reason, I like the way of setting 'Home' as described by Peter; better and safer than entering my physical address.

Thanks everyone.  I was having trouble registering any location as Home, but seem to have done it.  I will take my lead from you all and use a nearby roundabout.

The roundabout is a good one, especially if it has multiple exits.
Just thought of a good one, if you live near a motorway. Set it to the exit ramp, as you potentially can go anywhere from there.

That’s my thinking exactly.  And Home in the Lexus and my Garmin is under the cat’s name - who does live there, after all.

Only disadvantage to this plan, I’ve discovered, is that the local Police hut - although nearby - is rarely occupied.
