Exporting car to Ireland

I am looking at moving from the UK to the Republic of Ireland next year. Could anyone tell me what the running costs are like? I know the fixed price servicing, but its more like brakes etc. I have just came home from 2 weeks in Cork and didn't see may Lexus cars.

VRT is but there’s an exemption for bringing in a personal vehicle.

Road tax for the NX300h is €280 annually.

As you are changing your place of residence to Ireland you should not have to pay any VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax).

There is a Lexus dealeer in Cork and I have found tem very efficient any time I have had cause to use them.

Parts prices are in general within 10% to 15% of what you would expect to pay in the UK.

I'm from Cork myself but living in Dublin now.

You'll have no problem with the Lexus in Cork - as "Beamish" has outlined above. Infact, Beamish is the local stout which you'll have to try (I have and hate it ...)

More importantly, you'll have to learn how to speak Cork. Some think it's the same as the regular english language and that's a big mistake.

Welcome to Ireland Iain, I have not yet tried the Lexus dealer in Cork but being the same as Toyota I hope it will be a better experience than the one I had when I serviced my Prius.
