Hi, I've just returned from France / Spain and although the headlights seemed to work as usual, I had a lot of lorries flash me on the opposite carriageway when the car appeared to have "dipped" the headlights.

Not a massive inconvenience but worth being aware of, no issues from opposite carriageway  when auto function was turned off.

Hope this helps 👍

Driving in Europe with adaptive headlights are light deflectors still necessary

No, and even without adaptive lights, any Lexus with HID or LED headlights have a flat beam which doesn't need deflectors.

I can't remember the last time I saw a car over here with those yellow deflectors stuck on the headlights.

What Colin said, if you email Lexus they have a standard "no the headlights are flat beam" response, I think they even sent someone on here a letter a while ago. I used mine on adaptive whilst on the autobahn and they seemed to be fine.

Although, I am a little concerned they aren't working correctly as I have had a few people flash me in the past week or so whilst driving locally (out of town in the dark). They certainly struggle to pick up oncoming vehicles with the long summer dusks in Scotland with halogen headlights in particular not being picked up as early as they probably should.
