Remove satnav and replace with non-nav / knob controller

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone happens to know whether it is possible to remove the built in satnav system as well as the “remote touch” joystick controller, and replace it with a non-nav system and knob controller.

alternatively - would the knob controller work on the system with nav? 
It’s a 2013 is300h

 

Reason I am considering this is because I installed a Chinese apple CarPlay system which works fantastically and made the car modern again- the only issue is the joystick controller. It is a bit of a pain to use. The knob controller would work way better with the CarPlay system.
