Strange that Lexus differentiated the models by seat materials.

 

The leather seats in my RC and these in the RX are far softer than any leather I experienced in my Mercs (except the nappa retrim I had in the C class).

 

Agreed.The leather in the SLK320 I had years ago must have come off the back end of a rhino or an elephant.Merc are also guilty of being economical with facts with their"artico" artificial leather.

If it's leather..it's leather.If it isTahara/Artico etc,then it is plastic.Simple really.

This thread has intrigued me. I have a 2014 GS300h premier. The seats are obviously real leather and beautiful. Semi aniline I believe. However, I’ve always had doubts about the door panels and front arm rest as they feel different. The Lexus dealers I’ve spoken to have assured me that they are leather but I’m not so sure!

I'd almost guarantee that they are artificial leather. Definitely the case in my RX.
