Interesting to see the prices adjusted for inflation (at 26:45).

I heard the original LS never made a profit, so was it underpriced?

Pete the american car manufacturers accused Toyota of selling the 400 at less than its manufacturing cost but if you include all of the costs of launching a brand I suspect that there were no profits in the ls range for many years .

The long term plan as paid off in spades and as a exercise in creating a successful brand it is one of the best examples of its kind ,even better than Henry Ford's model "T" as he had no competition worth talking about.

Wow, seems like their are lots of books called the Relentless Pursuit. But only one about the Relentless Pursuit of perfection.

Well  this book has to go onto my reading list - along with the huge pile already beside the bed

I might then write a book called - 'The relentless pursuit of cheapness', this will be concerning the manufacturing sector of that little know country trying to annex Taiwan.  This could be in pursuit of being better than  the Trabant.💀

The European sales figures at 26:24 are interesting.
