Lexus nx wireless CarPlay

I have a 2020 lexus nx takumi model 

I am only able to get apple car play to work when my Iphone is plugged into the car using a usb cable.

does any know if there is a solution to make car play work wirelessly

There are a number of dongles available for apple and Android that you plug into your usb socket and they create a wireless link to your infotainment unit(if it is capable of connecting via cable,as you say yours is).

The dongle just stays connected to the car and should connect to your phone seamlessly.It is about the size of a credit card and about one third of an inch thick.

I did have one from Carlinkit(for Android but they do apple too) but had to return it because it wasn,t working properly.Don,t buy from them.. their customer service is hopeless and others on this club have had similar problems with them.I,m still waiting for my refund.

There's bound to be someone else here who has successfully managed to do it.Just be warned to avoid Carlinkit.

Quite a few people on this forum use a device called CPLAY2AIR. There are quite a few posts about it if you do a search, e.g.....

I can't vouch for it as I use Android Auto but I believe that reviews have been favourable.

I’ve had a CPLAY2AIR unit in my car now for over a year and it’s worked faultlessly the only downside is if you use the other usb socket to play music then you will have to unplug the CPLAY2AIR.
