Lexus ex demo with both automatic and manual transmission

Hi, i was talking to my grandma about her lexus, she said it was a 300 but dont know anything else about it apart from it was built by lexus with both automatic transmission but also manual transmission which is controlled via buttons on the steering wheel. Has anyone heard about this and is it a common car? Thanks, jack

I'm not familiar with that year/model but assume it's an automatic transmission with bottons that allow you to change gear manually if you so desire.

Yeah it is, have no clue about Lexus so was just wondering if it was a common thing and what models it’s on

or a gs 300 but they are a gimmick if the box doesnt want to change it wont. i.e going upto 6th as low speed .
