After the MOT the shock absorbers !!!

Hi all.

Advisory regarding the shocks quote was £571 nearly fell off my chair I assume this is for one as I know they are over approx £250 each won't be 2 will it.🤨

Are they suitable for just the rear off my is250 being the SE-L model.

They are not needed today just looking into what there is available for now.

Bilstein B6 are a heavy-duty shock so probably a bit stiffer than normal, but are fine with standard springs and can be used as an OE replacement.

Pretty sure someone on the forum had them fitted quite recently if you have a search.

One word of warning though. Check stock availability. I actually ordered a set of them for my car, and was told there would be a 2 month lead time, which I was fine with. But, once those 2 months had come and gone, I queried what was happening and was then informed of a further delay of 4 or 5 months, so I just cancelled.

If you want them. Order them NOW.

I cant understand why fitting one shock would be so expensive.

Hi Mike. This brings back a memory from when I first got my car. Took it to Lexus to continue its full dealer service history and they came back to me with ' sorry but we won't MOT your car as we don't want to fail it'.

Reason a weaping stain on one shocker. They quoted me £650ish for the pair. After a haggle I got genuine shockers (rear) supplied fitted £600 so £571 is probably for the pair but get confirmation from that dealer.

They should be replaced as a pair even if only one is leaking, replacing just one would be potentially dangerous. I don't think any reputable garage would propose otherwise.
