Has anyone had a problem with these. Last service shows they are becoming 'debonded' which in layman's terms means the rubber is perished. Lexus are quoting £662 to replacement which seems excess for 2 rubber joints. Car is 4 years old with 32k miles.

Should this be covered by warranty?

Was last service completed by Lexus Kevin?

If yes then claim might be accepted under new RELAX warranty. Ask them.

Do let us know what they say as we are trying to monitor claims under the new warranty.

Hi Kevin, may I ask what the symptoms of this problem were please? Did you hear anything? Thanks,

Steve

Kevin .....this is incredible ........... yes, the rubbers do wear with age and use and do become an MOT failure ......  I think mine began at about 15 years of age and  110k miles .  I would wait until the next MOT and see if they become an Advisory .....  presumably they weren't at the last MOT ??

Methinks the Main Dealer ( or someone ) is taking you for a proverbial cloud nine ride

... as John says above .......... claim on the Warranty and see what excuse they give for not proceeding ...  no Lexus is built that poorly I'm sure

Good luck

Thanks  for the replies and my apologies for the delay in responding.

The car has been serviced by Lexus from new and it was on the MOT as an advisory. Other than this there have been no issues with the car and no symptoms.

I'll check with dealer regarding a warranty claim and let you know.

Regards,

Kevin

So, if I'm reading correctly, you didn't know there was a problem until the MOT told you so?

Cheers

It won't  fall off it won't give you problems and as its an advisory, leave it until next year and see if it fails [ I doubt it very much] and so it goes on. I stopped having MOT's at Lexus and use a local garage. Lexus were very keen to fail, and as an ex-mechanic I felt they were after extra work.

I would be inclined to ask Lexus how to proceed with the ( free ) warranty claim tho' ...  just in case there is a real problem

Got 2018, 70000 miles had same problem. There was also an oil leak on the timing chain cover

quoted £1875 for the oil leak and £750 for the bushes

they have covered the oil leak on the relax, but not the bushes saying perishable item and mileage

1 out if 2

will look at getting an independent to do them

Hello everyone!

Been researching preventative maintenance for our 3 year old NX300h '21. It appears that they are mostly bullit proof. Though lately we are noticing that the car can seem twitchy when going through bumps / undulations on an A or B road! In Oxfordshire the roads on average are really bad, borderline terrible!

In anycase, as we are wanting to keep the car for many years to come, it has LED me down the road into what can be changed / upgraded to improve the luxury feel to the car.

Turns out that Powerflex are looking into making replacement bushings for the suspension, in USA you can already get almost all the bushes from Siberian Bushings.

I am also concidering TEIN enduropro OEM shock absorbers, they are adjustable and would give a much better ride quality over the standard items. In the USA they are fitting these to the Tesla Model Y, with very noticable improvements in comfort and handling.

Has anyone made these changes already?

Irony is, that I've just had to have them replaced as well, £920... not covered by Relax. 42000 miles, 2019 NX. Wondering if this problem is exacerbated by living near the sea because my wife's Mazda's 2017 subframe is looking well corroded...

I have a 2019 model with the same problem. 28000 mls.

It seems pretty common then, you're even lower mileage ☹️ ... they not covering yours under Relax either? Do you live near the sea? (My theory)

Nowhere near the sea. My third Lexus, sold my RX last year 70000mls 9 years old with the original bushes no problems.

I find it quite incredulous that your NX300s have this seemingly clearly BAD issue from new ........  it's a big black mark against your Lexus model range for sure 🤢

Might it just be the Main Dealers are getting their MOT Testers and service people to overly notice these as failures or potential failures I wonder

Could you take your cars to independent MOT Testers who might not see this problem in the same light .......  or at all !

Good luck

Mate, I saw them on the garage video, not over zealous as far as I could see, they were definitely in a very bad way. I got them done there and then but they count as wear and tear.

OEM original at 42k miles and 5 yrs age seems rubbish manufacturing sadly 🥵

Guys, if you've been affected by this either under warranty replacement or not, please get over to that Facebook group 'Lexus NX Owners Group UK' as per previous post, and take part in the poll. May benefit us all.

Just an update, no word from the dealership. I contacted Lexus UK. Advised them of my circumstances and questioned whether there had been a change of specification with the bushing. This resulted in Lexus Uk contacting me the following day. They supplied the part and arranged that the dealer fitted it free of charge. It took 30 mins. I only purchased the car five months previously from the dealership. Hope this helps others in a similar situation.

This may help tremendously! Thank you. Could you possibly confirm the dealership where you had it done and precisely the part they replaced (what did they call them). Did Lexus confirm that the part had been upgraded? Thanks so much 👍🏻

Trailing arm. Lexus would make no comment on the part apart from being on back order. My Lexus was full Lexus service history, with both the ten year warranty and the one year purchase warranty. Reading both, the rubbers are not covered although the road springs are.

Lexus direct are selling the original part for £239. Five fastenings involved.Local garage would save you a lot.

Thanks Sandy for the above.  Well done on getting the work completed under warranty.  There are many of us who have had to pay up to £1000 out of our own pockets as various dealerships are stating it is not covered.  Would you kindly please share the dealership you used and the email address you used when you contacted Lexus UK.

We are trying to get clarification on what qualifies for a successful warranty claim, and potentially a refund for those who have paid out.  On the FB group we working together to address this subject which frequently comes up.   Thank you 🙂
