Reset and drive back to the place you started and look at the new mpg.

On a trip 58.5 miles with 27mph?

Well, 58.5 miles could have been accumulated over several trips, so that is irrelevant. Also multiple trips could apply to the average of 27 mph since it was manually reset.

If you start and drive off in ev mode only, the 'After start' would indeed show 99.9 mpg, even if you only drive 100 metres or so.

Did never try that and also did not know it would be that easy. I could fill the tank 1000m above sea level and drive all the way down (a bit more than 40km and would then have some impossible  reading and that is what I thought had been done.

But driving in mountains will never get good mileage in a hybrid as the Battery is far too little to store all the power that come driving down. And driving up keep engine running constant.

They've added another digit in the newer models, but only in the infotainment system. I've seen 199.9MPG in mine after fill-up (I've got it to reset automatically at fill-up) going downhill before the engine kicks in.
