Hi all , I have just bought my first Lexus after months looking for the right one !  I have a IS250 2012 advance in red with cream mileage of 44000.  Absolutely love the car and so far after owning only for a week have vowed I’ll never own anything else other than a Lexus from now on ! Had Hondas for years and they are great but always lusted over a 250 . Looking forward to learning and sharing on this forum.  As you can see the car is pretty much as new just had 4 new Pirelli P zero fitted and want to keep it that way !  First challenge is keeping wife very much away from it as the wheels have no curbing marks at all .
regards

I am interested in servicing tips or anything that is essential on these cars engines ? Got interest at the risk of offending other model drivers ( not intended ) I looked at the newer shape model and drove a couple , but for me I found the shape I have purchased of higher quality , the fit and finish is better and feels more solid ? I may be wrong but the newer one just felt dare I say it ! Well , a bit cheap ! My old accord felt better engineered . Hopefully I’ve made the right choice with this car . Certainly impressed with it so far every journey feels like an experience ! Been a long time since I felt that way about a car in fact the last time was when I owned a Honda legend but that was not as dynamic as this Lexus . Love it .

Whilst I’m in the mood for rambling ! Anyone have any thoughts on the Vland rear light upgrade ? I’m not interested in modding or ruining a perfect car with add ons , but those lights do look pretty awsome to me .

Hi Steven and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. You've chosen well with the awesome is250. As for the vland rear lights they are a personal thing. The rear lights on your car are better in my opinion. The only achilies heal with the is250 are the rear brake caliper slide pins, they tend to seize if not lubricated once or twice a year. Otherwise you've got arguably the best car out there. I really like those wheels. They look like the 18" wheels I had on the is300h premier. Are they 18" or 17" wheels on your car?

There's lots to read on here about the is250 so I recommend you spend a couple hours trawling the gen2 section of the IS forum.

Thanks for the response , I don’t know wheel size which is shameful !  The dealer fitted 4 new Pirelli’s . Currently at work (nights ) I’ll go have a look in car park later and see !! Great to know about rear brakes ! I’ll ensure I’ll get that done , I’m a bit old fashioned and tend to get at least an oil change every 6 months so will request the slider lube . Thanks
