Lexus SC 430 club gathering and meet.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

Are people aware of the interesting things on www.sc430mods.com? It is run by Calvin Azzola who appears on several YouTube videos fitting his mods. 👍

Some of may know that Calvin was hoping to attend this year but he has told me that due to the current hike in flight prices this is not possible. ☹️

Despite this he is hoping to attend next year! 😁

The numbers appear to be going up and we need another 2 SC's to match the biggest ever meet!

If you are thinking about joining and undecided I urge you to be part of what could be a historic event!

Fair play Ant, you are doing your best to promote this one.👍

I'm starting to take it more seriously now and emptied out the door pockets of sweet wrappers this evening. 🙂

As you know, I'm no detailer Bob but even I use the 2 buckets system 🤣

I ought to break out the beige leather dye too.

I’m guessing the beige dye would be worth doing on your low mileage interior  😉

Yes, almost 160k miles, one careful owner (before me) and it's had a few well documented applications of dye in recent years.

On Wednesday I went into an auto leather specialist which has just opened near Holmfirth to ask his advice about sorting my beige leather out.

He said to dye leather seats is only a temporary fix and therefore he would want to replace the leather.

I gulped and propped myself up against my car as I  asked him how much to re-leather both front seats.

He said £1500 which I kind of expected but as I have seen many SC's with much worse seats than mine. It seems a bit extravagant with all the other interesting mods that are probably more pressing!

Yes I'm trying my best but most people are so reserved that hardly anyone has even commented.

This is a concern when Juan has worked so hard to promote SC430'S and arrange this event, especially as it promises to be such a good one!

Brad from Conway with the blue one, Russ from Mansfield with the white one, Dr Will with the red one, Ian from Derbyshire with the black one and me with the silver one.

Now that's a fair array of colours!

Was that including painting all the trim parts black, red seat belts and labour?

Yep the full package for 2.5k which was very reasonable considering the work involved, i didnt realise how much plastic trim needed doing until i saw it all dismantled and the parts hanging up on the line and on the shelves….

when i saw the finished bits in black i honestly thought they had went out and purchased new bits as the finish was perfect

Looks very nice Ant.😎

I got off to a bad start yesterday with the appearance of an engine management light and then after making a poor job of leather cleaning, started cleaning the bodywork in the evening to discover a nice crack in the front bumper. It probably took a little nudge in a car park somewhere in the last few days and I hadn't noticed. I was planning to take time out today to make it look as pretty as possible but I've lost the will now.

So do I patch it up this evening and 'limp' to Coventry to make up the numbers or stand in for Graham this year and park the GS460 waving a Scottish flag in the church car park? 🤣
