Keys

Hi guys

I got one key and the service key when I bought my car, this has bothered me since then worrying that if I lost my key or it broke I would be stumped.

Then it happened, it broke, well the case broke and I was forced to resolve the problem.

I bought a case, blade, Battery and buttons from eBay and then had the blade cut this morning.

It was £15 for the cutting which means it was £21 in total.

The key looks excellent, just like an OEM key with gold L hidden under a piece of black masking tape.

I have now ordered a second one and a little remote pad to fit inside it from the same supplier so I am hoping that will give me a spare 3 button key!

Ant,

I assume it needs programming to your car? Otherwise, how does it know what car to unlock/lock

This guy on eBay will supply a new key case/blade that he cuts for you before sending it out. All you have to do is take out your own electronics from the damaged case and swap it into the new one.

Now you tell me! 🤷‍♂️

No Herbie, thanks for sharing that. A bit late for me but I am sure others will benefit from the information.

Hi Russ

Yes, I will need to go through the reprogramming process.

Try this from CL  or there are some clear you-tube instructions.

I have successfully used this method to programme keys in the past but the timing and remembering the sequence is key so expect it to take 2-3 attempts before you get the knack of it.
