Help/Advice needed.

Just changed the brake caliper clips on all 4 wheels, all appeared to go well, and didn’t think anything had gone wrong. But when starting the car just afterwards, as soon as in start mode I’m getting the dreaded Check VSC error, and also have the ABS warning and brake warning light on.
Had nothing prior to doing the caliper work, so must have done something to cause this.
Any ideas? Is this a going to be a quick and cheap fix?

thoughts?

This happens to me quite often.  It resets if you restart the engine.  I have had it checked several times and no fault codes show up and the brakes work perfectly.  No one seems to understand why it happens.

Thanks Michael, however I probably should have said that I tried restarting a few times, and also went for a short drive (2 miles max) but still have the same issue.

I don’t so probably should get one sorted. But I’ve taken the plunge and booked into the local dealer so that they can run it through Techstream. Hoping that it confirms nothing major, but will see.

Sorted but not what I expected. Turns out that air had got into the brake system. Dealer bled the brakes and reset all error codes and now all back to normal.

I think I might have the answer to this problem which has defied my and my garage's efforts to diagnose it for several years.

Since I fitted the new LED headlights the occasional persistent warning lights (VSC, ABS & Brakes) which either stayed on or came on unpredictably have reverted to their correct situation and stayed off all the time.

I assume the fault, which has never been identified and do isn't produce any error codes, was due to a CanBus error caused by the old HID conversion.
