My 22 premium edition finally arrived 28/05/2022. Had the car dropped off as it was when it arrived at Lexus Wolverhampton so they would not touch the paint work. (Even the delivery guy made a comment about how that was a very good move). Now it’s time to clean and decontaminate and prep before I apply Gyeon Evo ceramic coating.

Other jobs to do

Take wheels off and ceramic coat

coat the glass

install mud guards

sort out all weather rubber mats

photos will be uploaded once the cars down.

So still had the transport film on the bonnet, roof and wheels?

My RC came with all weather mats and mud guards. Plus the side window glass is coated from the factory.

How will you prep the paint before applying the ceramic coat, is it one of the new type that can be applied outside and cured at ambient temperature?

They left everything on even the inside has not been touched.

clay bar where needed then machine polish followed wash then by a degreaser on all the panels ready for the coating.
The machine polish and ceramic coating is being done inside.

I admire your enthusiasm and dedication to detailing a new car, but how long do intend to keep it?

🫣 hopefully 3-4 years, but you never know.

Congratulations on the new car. What colour? I had all the wrapping left on as well.

Picked it up like this.... and finished up like this...

I’d agree - Graphite Black is a pain to keep clean but looks great when done - I’m on my 2nd ES in Graphite Black 🙂

So I finally finished, had to do a stage 1 machine polish just to be 100% sure I was happy with the paint finish before I applied the Gyeon coating.
Gyeon ceramic coating was a 2 stage application, Glass was straightforward single coating and the rims I gave them a 2 stage coating.
The AliExpress mud guards are a perfect fit ( would say they are main deal spec ).
Just need to sort out all weather mats

Just typical as soon as the car is taken out the heaven open up, at least I could see the beading.

Nice beading.

Did you allow it to cure for 12 hours before getting wet? The newer EVO coating range state to not get wet for 12 hours whereas I can remember the one I used was 24 hours but was an older coating.
