Beige factory floor mats - about to attempt cleaning them and removal of car wash scratches?

As per the title I am going to have a go at cleaning the factory mats, resplendent in what used to be a shade of beige but now resemble anything but (to be fair they are in good condition considering) my attention will be mostly on the front as the rears are literally as new and only need a gentle clean. (carpets are clean so no issues there as the mats did their job) So I am wondering has anyone else cleaned theirs, what with and did it come up ok - I'm not expecting perfection and know they will get dirty quickly again but there is a show on in a few weeks that I hope to get to and would like them looking fairly good, as for the paint I am a bit wary of going down the "paint correction" road as I can't afford that but has anyone tried any other polish stuff that works ok on light scuffs? I do have a nice powerful pressure washer that can be turned down for the carpets should that be an option its the soapy/cleaning stuff I am not sure about. (failing all this I will leave it with a valet chap and let the credit card take a hit)  😵 🤣

For a good clean, your best bet would be to find a neighbour with a carpet cleaning machine and borrow that.
Otherwise there are spray on carpet cleaners that are OK and also car mat specific cleaners.

Personally, I jet wash mine, then hand scrub with Fairy liquid solution, and finally jet wash again before hanging them on the line to dry.
That'll shift anything except for stains. Don't get too close with the jet wash as the pressure will damage the carpet.

I'll do the jetwash thing (and wont use the "cone" nozzle as that can strip paint off the bumper (ask me how i know) 🙈 have an old carpet brush in the shed somewhere will see what i can do.

I have used Decosol Upholstery Cleaner spray, worked very well on an oily stain on beige headliner (from mechanic who wore an oily woolly hat).

For paintwork Turtle Wax Colour Magic is pretty good or there is a T-Cut version similar product.

Vanish Spray Foam is very good - try it after jet washing - when dry.

I have beige ones, I wash them with a soft plastic scrubbing brush and fairy liquid about once a month and hose off. I've power washed them in the past l, but try and keep it a bit gentler when I'm doing it regularly.

For the paint something like G3 Pro Scratch Remover might work well.

My mats were covered in grease from a petrol station.

Put in the bath.

I used Swarfega on the black grease, then wet, and use Vanish carpet cleaner and a nail brush, from the £1 shop.

Then rinse off under the tap.

Drain for 10 mins then put on the washing line facing the sun.

One day later perfect carpets, that smell brilliant.

As far as paint imperfections go, if you wipe the area with a damp cloth and they briefly disappear it usually means they will polish out. I bought a dual action polisher a few years ago with various foam pads, compound and polish, and the results are pretty good. A clay bar beforehand is great but very time consuming.

A DA polisher is definitely useful, especially with a car as big as the Lexus!

When I bought my 1994 Celsior I didn’t pay that much attention to the factory floor mats but thought afterwards they needed a good clean.

Until I did clean them I never realised they even had a pattern on them!

I took them out and put them in the bath with hot water and a washing machine pod. Left them to soak then scrubbed with a nail brush.

Rinsed several times and took 3 days to dry.
