Oh my !!!  would they really fit my '95 Ls400 ok do you think ?

any thoughts on the on-going maintenance of the chrome effect ?  or indeed how effective the existing chroming might be ?

isn't real chrome banned these days ......  so might they just be a plasticised look-a-like do you think .

sorry, never asked so many what could be simply stupid Qs  .....  or just have my existing refurbished at @ £ 450 incl vat they tell me

When I purchased my 1994 Celsior back in 2006 it was fitted with some Impul Granz 17” staggered chrome wheels.

They looked stunning and got many a compliment.

After around 2 years despite regular cleaning and protection the chrome began to lift, corrosion seeped in and they looked crap.

No one would touch them as apparently both stripping off chrome and re-chroming is a specialist job and also expensive.

Fine in Japan with no road salt but not here in the UK.

Some of the US models of the LS430 were supplied with Chrome plated wheels.
From what I hear the chrome flakes off under the bead and causes slow leaks.
Also, getting them re-chromed or even powdercoated is a PITA and expensive.
If you like your bling and only ever drive it to shows, then great, but not practical for year round use.

 tacky and *****!

I would agree, the Impul Granz do at least look different as a statement, where as the eBay offering seems to have taken a Mk3 wheel and made it look 'well tacky and naff' IMHO.

The fun and gmaes I had as a teenager with my chromed racing bike and trying to keep that looking nice on UK roads, no way I want chrome on any car of mine these days.

There is only one question to ask.....are they elegant. I think not.
