Any tips on the problem? Just won an auction on a car with this problem.

Read my "Big" post above all you need to know.

Yeah Ive read it a couple of times lol. Do you think it is possible to fix the sensor if its got moisture in it or do I need to start hunting for an replacement rack? I would think that the codes the car has point towards the sensor or the drs ecu? The car has been MOT'd a few months back.

The codes I get are:

NS (Navi system): C165A DRS ECU Malfunction

AFS: B241D DRS System

DRS: C1B17 Motor Rotation angle Mismatch (Stroke Sensor)

VGRS: C15C9 DRS System Malfunction

ABS: C120E DRS Control System

Sorry for the delay,

Those codes are a failed Stroke sensor, it will be toast and you will progaby struggle to remove it.

I would have a go at cheating the system, you have nothing to loose and you don't have to get under the car so see if this works.  See Page 3 of the atttached, I would take the feeds from MS2 and MS1 and patch them into AS2 and AS1, you need to snip AS2 and AS1 from the stroke sensor....this "May" work and trick the ECU into thinking the revolution sensor feedback is the stroke sensor....Do at you own risk!

A "3rd party" techstream will work, but it takes a few goes to get the ECU to callibrate to the rack.

I actually found an replacement rack from lithuania for 350€ incl. All costs. Would you recommend to change the sensor or the whole rack as one and configure it with techstream?

Are you sure?? that seems way, way too cheap....you need to check the sensors on both, have a go at the rewire first....the rack you have bought may also have a faulty sensor.....

Yeah the faulty sensor is an possibility but price wasnt bad. Also I thought the same about the price but the car was an f-sport 350. The part number (45900-30070) matched and seemed like the same thing. The part I ordered is in the pic.

Great deal... Hope it works for you, let me know how you get on.  Probably worth trying to calibrate it before install so you know it works!

Yeah ill share my progress here when the part and techstream cable arrive. Big thanks also to you for the documentation made here, a lot of data for the f-sport community.

The ECU is probably the power electronics - classic. Same with the hybrid inverters usually blowing up, the EPS ECUs usually blowing up, but not the transmissions/racks/etc.
