Hi James. So the gaitor has come out completely? Look on YouTube how to remove the radio headunit, yes sounds daft but the 1st few instructions show how to remove the centre console. It's a very easy job. You take off the 2 side chrome looking trim using either your fingers or a plastic tool. Then the centre console comes off by lifting from the clips which hold it in. Once removed place the gaitor over the gearstick and put the console and trim back on.

Mr Vlad.  The Centre console has never been removed it’s just the gaiter a new one comes with some wire to fit but it seems crazy it doesn’t just pop back on

It probably clips to something under the panel. I've had my centre panel off and noticed the gaitor fitted from underneath.

Just realised yours is a manual. I've looked on auto trader and feel the gaitor clips in from the top or from underneath. Probably is a tight squeeze to get it in.
