Rc300 h Front grill upgrade to F

Recommended Posts

Hi all members

looking for some help with my Lexus RC300H,

I am a very recent owner of above and the front grill has some broken bars in the grill. I have the car in for repair and was hoping to upgrade the front grill to the spindle type ( f sport I believe with diamond shape). I had a call from the panel beater to say Lexus were reluctant to sell the upgrade unless I also purchased a front bumper which I don’t need. There would be some issue with number plate also.
I read a US based forum which seemed to indicate that the grill was a direct swap and the part required was 53101-24180.

I did email Lexus Official store in Epsom and they said part was available (£530) but was part number              53101-24230

would appreciate any direction on the above please

Thanks in anticipation

Frank

It should be a direct swap

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265591560392?hash=item3dd67d98c8:g:WKAAAOSwhRhiLHhy

eBay is showing up some grills for the RC with part number 5310124090

That particular link Ive shown has the cover on the right side which a lot are missing and the standard or Premier/Takumi models version of this part wont fit the F-Sport grill

You could also contact:

https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/

53101-24180 seems to be the part number for the Luxury line grill with vertical slats.

5310124090 seems to be the correct part number for the F-Sport grill itself

Usually Lexus won't sell "upgrade parts", so you need to tell them VIN from the car and they would only sell parts as per VIN. You can PM me if you need F-Sport VIN as I used to have one. Although this won't help you with the price ~500 seems to be the cost for it.

Thank you Rayaan. Yes I had seen this grill on eBay and as noted it is again another different part number to the two I already have. Hence my dilemma, with trying to find the correct part number.

I did send this company my VIN number and picture of damage and asked for their help. Unfortunately no reply yet. They do seem to be experts in front fenders and grill, with many marques in stock.
This seller is in Lithuania and comes with the added associated problems with importing due to Brexit. Would prefer to purchase directly in UK, but no reply anyway.

Thank you Linas P for also taking the time to reply.

Yes I believe what you are saying and that seems to confirm what my panel beater was saying. Lexus didn’t seem to be interested, in selling something other than that, which they would be confident with the fit.

Thank you also for the offer of the F sport VIN. I might take you up on this, later. I was hoping to fit the upgrade now as work is being done, but I think I may have missed my opportunity as the panel beater cannot hang around with a car in his way.

I don’t know enough about the car, as I haven’t had the opportunity to mess around with it being a new owner.

Thanks for your time

Frank

You welcome.

In my experience usually customs don't check goods coming in, I am still not been charged import tax on over dozen items. It is usually only problem to send goods into Europe, because EU does check.
