Hi there,

I own a 2017 IS 300H for about 2 weeks with the Xenon headlamps and the beams aim too low. I tried to adjust them but the light won't move up and down at all, is there a certain procedure for this?

Thanks!

This is the adjustment procedure for HID lights.

If it cannot be adjusted correctly then check the vehicle for accident damaged repair in case the light unit isn't sitting correctly in the vehicle. Also check the suspension self-levelling sensors in case they are disconnected/damaged.

Thanks for the diagram, @ColinBarber!

I have a headlight that seems to stick in full beam.

I doubt these adjustments can help me. Though the diagram says if aimed correctly in dipped mode, that ought to mean full beam is OK too.

You mention suspension self leveling sensors. If I'm not parked flat, do those sensors go out of line?

Thanks!

No.

Just one headlight? Sounds like the shutter that is in front of the bulb is stuck/failed. Not sure there is much you can do about that other than replace the headlight (unless you want to try and break it open, fix and reseal).

Thanks! That's what I think it is, but am wondering if someone who has previously tampered with these levels, have put it out of line of and tightened it to the point the shutter is a bit stuck.

One of the adjustment knobs seems to be plastic and looks like it's been in contact with a metal screwdriver.

May open my faulty one up and inspect. Will take photos if so.
