Chrome or Fake Chrome?

Hi,

Just wanted to ask if the chrome profiles through out the car's body are real or fake (plastic with shiny coating) chrome? Asking strictly to decide on how to clean them. Many thanks!

On my 2022 model, all plastic as far as I can see. The process is shown here

I thought " real " chrome was abolished by law quite some years ago  ... something to do with the chemicals causing harm

Plastic I would say, I had mine on my drivers door replaced just a week after collection at Christmas, due to some scratches I saw on collection, very quick and easily done

All Plastic and chromed.  Volvo were one of the first manufacturers to chrome plastic grilles back in the 80's.
