Morning.

My name is Mick and I am an adi..... no sorry wrong place.

But really, my name is Mick, I'm 62 and I have been driving since I was 18, such a long time isn't it, makes me feel very old. I also passed my bike test when I was 20. Over the years I have driven/ridden all kinds of things and enjoyed, not all, but, most of it.

I was born in Sunderland, moved to Basingstoke when I was 4, got married at 24, moved around a little and ended up in Devon, where we have lived for a number of years now. We have two grown up kids who both have families of there own now. In all we have 4 fantastic grand kids that keep us busy/entertained.

I was a prosthetic technician until about 6 years ago when I retired due to limited mobility caused by a back problem.

This is a new experience for me as I don't usually join forum's but there is always a first time, right?

Mick.

Hi Mick and welcome to a forum. Actually the best Lexus forum there is. Wow what an introduction. So you were a biker in the 80's then. Me too. The halcyon days. I see you have the RX450H. Superb car. What made you go for it and as John asked what did you move from? This forum has a dedicated RX section which I hope you've found. Full of very knowledgeable folk. You'll be made to feel at home with us lot. Sorry to learn about your back problem but I'm sure you know how to deal with it.

How long have you had the RX? You'll love it in no time, I had one but had to let it go for financial reasons. Enjoy your car and the forum.

Hello and welcome to the club Mick.

I was a telephone engineer with BT but was medically retired after a back injury at work, which was the main reason for buying the RX - much easier to get in and out of than a saloon car.

There's a lot of good and knowledgeable people in these forums so never be shy of asking questions, someone will always help if they can.

Hi Michael,  welcome to the LOC and great choice of Lexus model.

I’m now 63 (just) passed my car test in 1977 and bike test just before they introduced the new style test instead of just riding around the block.

Recently purchased a 1981 Suzuki GS250 which is my retirement project, free road tax and no MOT from next year.
