Oil change

Have new LC convertible.Why is service interval 5k/6mo. when the industry standard is 10k/1yr.with Mobil 1 full synthetic? Appreciate your input.

you have a very special new car so why not just believe what the experts ..  Lexus ..  are advising you about your special car  ....  there's no " industry standard " for this

my LC is every 10k, not sure why the convertible would be any different.

I too cannot see why being a convertible should warrant a more frequent oil change but perhaps this link might throw some light on the matter.

My Lexus servicing dept. also recommended a service every 6 months for my coupe that I hardly drive.

All LC in the UK are serviced at 10k miles / 1 year whichever comes first.

If you're located elsewhere, due to different fuel grades and oil grades, the recommendation may be to service more frequently
