Replaced the big Lexus and tiny Smart with a compromise car.

Had to be under 4m long, automatic, space in rear for 6 foot plus adults, 50mpg+, sub 10 seconds 0-60 (I know, scary fast).

Ended up with this!

Easy to understand that in UK you need a coat. Here where temperatures are above 15 night- and 20 daytime the locals say it is cold.

Old people mobile. It's a Jazz Sport.

Tepid Hatch.

1.5 iVTEC.

Does the job without any danger of increasing your heart rate.

Our primary car is a GS, secondary car a jazz. Wouldn’t change either. Both are the best in their respective sectors.

Great little cars and a practical run around. If they have the reliability of the first Jazz they're fantastic.

Aside from my LC, we have two of these in the "family". Bought one purely as a runabout and the wife loved it so much she sold her very highly specced Mini Cooper S and bought an all but new Jazz hybrid. Great cars and capable of carrying vast loads and even full size bikes once the rear  "magic" seats are raised.

So don't worry Steve you're in good company and clearly a man of taste  😂

That is a fine choice in my view Stevie. I do hope that it has a decent auto transmission and not a Dual Clutch.

Wanted to avoid DSG at all costs.

Compared with a Polo but Jazz seemed much nicer.

Having driven a bit this week I can report it does 60mpg on a 30 mile cross country commute.

75 mpg on a slow motorway (130 miles) run with some drafting.🤗

Switching to sport mode only reduces mpg to 54.

So it does what the compromise car should.
