What's this please...???

2003 RX300 SE_L

Dose anyone know what this is for, a removable two partition holder in the centre console, one side is fully lined with foam including the base, the foam isn't quite square either..... What is this for...???

Just a guess but a pen holder that doesn't rattle.

I think it's something added by the previous owner as mine didn't have one of these, whatever it is.

In fact you can put in whatever you want assuming it'll fit.

It's a Lexus built part, it fits too well to be an addon... the foam is five sided but made in one piece.. It must be original, maybe there was an accessory that was stored there...

Very weird, I'll probably remove it as it just wastes space...

I think it's standard on the SEL, mine has it. I wondered if it was for an early mobile phone or perhaps a mini torch or spare batteries for the headsets but I think it's just somewhere to store something small/delicate so that it doesn't rattle. If I put a phone charger in the main dash outlet, I put the cigarette lighter in that foam piece. 

There are quite a few nice touches in the RX. It was several weeks before I realised the centre console and the rear seats could be adjusted back and fore.

I know it's features, it's very sad but I read the handbook cover to cover.... the ending was awful....lol...
